I was in an accident and was found 70% at fault. I have no assets. Can I file bankruptcy if I am sued?

Question Details:

My coverage for personal injury is $15,000 person / $30,000 total. There are personal injury claims due to the accident. If the claims are more than my coverage, can I be sued personally? I don't own any house or anything else. Will my wages be garnished? Can I file bankruptcy?

Filing a Bankruptcy will normally discharge such a debt.   However, before you do that, you should discuss this matter with an attorney.   You may not need to file a BK if this is your only debt.  Do not jump the gun on this without speaking to an attorney about your alternatives.
