Question Details: I was in a relationship w/a woman for 3yrs that ended a week ago. We have a 2yr old daughter who she will not let me see until I start paying child support. She also says that she is going to file a restraining order against me and have her friends say that I was abusive. No one ever witnessed any violence whatsoever. What are my rights?
You need to consult a family law attorney in your area as soon as possible. You do have rights as a father, but the fact that the mother is being uncooperative and threatens to accuse you of abuse means that you are going to have a contentious battle with her regarding custody, visitation, and child support. You should go to court and obtain an agreement regarding custody of your daughter, child support for your daughter, and a visitation schedule. Hopefully, you can avoid future problems with the mother of your daughter. But you are going to need an attorney to represent your rights in court. Good luck.

Are you a lawyer?
