I was hit from behind and my car was totalled; the other driver was at fault; however, I owe more than the value of my vehicle. I need advice.

Question Details: The insurance says they are not ready to settle the claim and they are going to cease paying "storage" charges at the body shop in 4 days so I have to pay to have it towed to a free storage area. They are also saying they are only responsible for the value of my vehicle which is about $1000 less than what I owe on the vehicle. I do not have ample income to go out and buy a new vehicle without them paying off this note. Should I seek leagal counsel?

I have several questions: 1) were you injured? 2) what kind of insurance did the other guy have (policy limits) and 3) what kind of policy do you have?  Your post raises quite a few questions and it seems to me the only way to provide you with any worthwhile advice would be for you to contact a Louisiana-licensed lawyer.
