What to do if I was given a court order to stay away from my girlfriend?
Question Details: The order also states for me to not go to her place of employment. Her place of employment is a card store in the mall. However, I walked inside the mall to go to my own place of employment (it is NOT near her store). Is her "place of employment" considered the whole mall or just the specific store that she works in? I ask because I don't want to violate the order.
Ordinarily where there is a stay away injunctive order there is a stated distance that the people must adhere to. As such, I recommend that you carefully read the order and the distance should be listed. If not, a reasonable distance for a stay away order is 100 yards.
