Question: Criminal Defense - Minnesota

Asked on 11/18/2009

I was at a campout and our scout leader found a pipe and some tobacco in my bag which he then turned it over to the cops; is this legal?

If so, what can I do to fight this? This would be my second violation and I can't deal with this crap anymore.

A scout leader is not a police officer. There is nothing that restricts the scout leader from takimng tobacco and turning it over to police.   Nonetheless, there are many potential defenses to any criminal offense that can only be ascertained by a full review of the facts.
