i want to sell my house with a lawyer not a realestate agent, whats the % difference?

Many real estate lawyers are also real estate brokers because it is much easier when you are a lawyer in RI to get your real estate broker license.  There are pros and cons to using a lawyer/broker.  A real estate lawyer is preferred if he can also adequately market your property and spend the necessary time to show the property.  

Typically, realtors charge 2 - 6% of the sale price of the home--that's what you'd be saving.

A lawyer will help you do that various legal tasks associated with selling your home, including most importantly drafting and reviewing the contract of sale and setting up escrow for any deposits, though they will not help you market the home. A lawyer might charge $500 - $1500 for assisting in a home sale (typical rates; can vary widely, so you might want to shop around).
