I turned in a property ins. claim and found out my agent doesn't have pictures on file. What recoarse do I have?

Question Details: I received a claim payment on the property for wind damage that was not enough. When I called my agent, I found out he doesn't have pictures on the property. I asked him if he had pictures and he reluctantly told me I don't know. He also sent someone out to the property to take pictures after the claim without setting up an appointment which made me suspicious. What are my rights?

I am not admitted in Wisconsin.  You need to read your policy.  See what it says as to claims, procedure, etc.  See what it says as to your rights obligations and liabilities (is there a deductible, etc).  If you do not understand it bring it to an attorney to read.

Once you have a clear understanding of everyone's rights and obligations, get an estimate for repair.  Write to your insurance company with all your information and supporting documents (including pictures YOU took).  You can also file a complaint with your state insurance department.  Good luck.
