What to do about an unpaid payday loan?
Question Details: I recieved a call from a company claiming that a payday loan from 2 years ago in my name was never paid. They called me on Thursday and said there was a lawsuit and if I did not make a 1 time settlement offer, they were going to download my case file and get a warrant out for my arrest. I asked them to send or email me proof but they refused and gave me until Monday morning. What should I do and who can help me?
I suggest that you contact a consumer law attorney about the threat you received and give him or her as much infirmation about it. You need to be aware that threatening arrest for an alleged debt owed is an unfair business and collection practice under the laws of all states in this country.
Most likely you are being "scammed" by some third party to get money out of you.
