I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  Take the policy to a lawyer as there does not seem to be a valid basis for the insurance company to deny your claim.  You may have a claim for bad faith and may be able to sue the insurance company.  Make sure that you act quickly here.  You should not lose your license as a result of the accident.  If you were given a ticket, go to court with a lawyer and try to get it reduced or dismissed to avoid additional points on your license.
