Can I get a breach of trust warrant?

The police look at these things on a case by case basis. Sometimes they will assist in seeking a warrant and sometimes they will say its a civil matter and will not help with a warrant. You can call them, meet with them and go over everything and see what they say. You can also go to your local Magistrate Court and ask them. Good luck.

Although I do not practice law in the State of South Carolina, here are my initial impressions.  I generally agree with my colleague's advice; however, I'd like to add an additional perspective.  In addition and/or in lieu of reporting this as a criminal matter, you should also consider filing a small claims action against this individual.  If you can document that this person received funds and then breached your contract by failing to provide services, you may be able to recoup some or all of the money.  Good luck.
