I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  There are rules regarding what property may be executed on to satisfy a judgment.  A primary car that is used for transportation is generally exempt - meaning that this is not something that can be taken to satisfy a judgment.  However, if you have 2 or 3 cars, the creditor may go after them leaving you with only one car.  I suggest hiring a lawyer to negotitate a resolution to the debt or decide whether bankruptcy is the right move here.
