I'm on misdemeanor probation. Can I move out of state?
Question Details: I was planning on moving out of state in November but I'm currently on unsupervised probation for a misdemeanor. Can I still move out of state? If not, what can I have to do to make it possible?
What type of probation are you on?
If you are on record check probation you can probably move out of state but I would provide your address to the Court.
If you are on probation to the court or probation through the probation office, you will need permission from the Court or a probation officer to move out of state.
If you think there is a question, you can always file a motion with the Court to modify your probation and allow you to move out of state. If you have complied with all the terms of you probation (including payment of fines) you could even ask the Court to release you from probation.
