What to do about signed divorce papers in my possession?
Question Details: I am in a same sex marriage but have been separated for a year. I received the signed papers 5 months ago and am ready to file. We have no shared assets, no children or property. Do I just need to file the papers? Also, will I still need to go to court?

You will need to file the papers and go to court. The state is a party to every marriage and you are still married until a Judge grants you a divorce.
