I have Reckless charge on my driving record causing my demotion without chance of promoting until 2011. This morning Mel Gibson had his wiped off.

Question Details: After 25 years of no tickets, I received a Reckless charge on my driving record. This has caused me to be demoted and the insurance company states that they will not consider insuring me until 2011. I hears this morning on the T.V. that Mel Gibson had his DUI wiped off his record after completing his 3 year probation. I have attended all required classes and paid all my fines. Is there anyway to get this charge off my driving record?

You can apply for an "expungemnt"; that is a legal clearing of your record.  Here's a site that will explain how:  http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/selfhelp/other/crimlawclean.htm
