I have recently been diagnosed with a terminal illness (3-6 mos.). I must now live on retirement & cannot pay credit cards. What is my best action?

I sorry to hear of your situation.  Franky, your best bet as this stage is to just ignore them.  It will probably take longer than 3-6 months for your creditors to take any action.  Technically, your estate is responsible to settle all debt but if there are not enough assets to do this, then the debt will extinguish upon final settlement of probate.
