Question: Divorce, Marriage, Alimony - Georgia

Asked on 10/5/2009
I have been served with a temp. protective order that is the beginning of a restraining order. The plaintiff is lying, how do I tell my side?
99% of what the plaintiff has said is not true, I did text her, however she has painted me as a pretty wicked guy in the written paperwork that I received. How do I ensure that the judge gets to hear my side because I have been told that that never happens? I actually am OK with most of the order as she is the past, I just don't want it to continue because she is lying and just wants to hurt me, 'what's next?' I ask. I could see her trying to hurt me further. She is bi-polar and on pain meds.

Go to the hearing and speak up.  Take witnesses.  Hire a good attorney.  The judge in most cases is required to hear both sides of any case.  If not, it is grounds for an appeal.
