I have been charged with a petty misdemeanor, how soon will it show on a background check?
Question Details:
I have not gone to court yet. I have no criminal record. How will this effect my record and how soon will it show up on a background check by a potential employer?
Good evening:
A charge does not effect your record. The only way anything will become a part of your record and be on a background check is if you are found guilty. Because the law says you are innocent until proven guilty being charged with a crime does not presume guilt. Therefore it cannot be made a part of your record or show up on a background check.
