How do I correct in inaccurate birthdate on my driver's license?

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.   The state will not know that you went and got your driver's license date of birth changed for purposes of prosecuting you.  you can go get yourt birth date change by getting a new license completely.  you should get a copy of your birth certificate and SS# and ask to fill out the new form for your new license and make sure the date is correct.  do not bring the date of birth issue to the DMV's attention.  just act as if you need a new license.

Reading between the lines here, you lied about your age when you got your driver's license 20-plus years ago, either because you weren't old enough for the license, or because you wanted to be able to drink before you turned 21.  That was a false statement under oath, and it was repeated each time you signed the application to renew your license since then.

I'd suggest having someone else call DMV and ask a "hypothetical" question, and that someone else has to be someone who doesn't have the same problem, and whom you can trust to keep your secret if the answer turns out to be particularly unpleasant.  An attorney would be the best candidate.
