How do you go about enforcing a judgement?

Question Details:

I have won a judgment against my ex-husband for an income tax debt that we were to share and I paid in full. A Writs of Garnishment was issued as per Statute 12.1577. Other than going after a bank account, which I'm trying to do, is there something else I can be doing? The clerk at the courthouse said I can go after his car but I have no idea how to do that. Can you please advise?

There are a couple things you can do here.  the most important is locating the debtor's assets and figuring out what if anything he has.  however, some things are exempt from garnishment such as the debtor's primary car.  I suggest that you hire a lawyer to do an asset search.  if the debtor is employed, you may file a wage garnishment with his employer.  the employer will take money from his paycheck and give it to you each pay period until the judgment is paid off.  you may also file court papers to have your lawyer force him to appear in court and ask him questions as to where and what his assets he has that may be taken.  If the debtor has a bank account, you may take the money from that account.  Again, hire  a lawyer to help you here.
