I had a bank account with a person who has died and his son closed it, took the money without my knowledge. Can I recover said funds?

Assuming that you were a joint account holder and the son was not, then his actions were unlawful.  You can pursue action against him civilly and criminally.  Depending on the amount of money invilved you may need to retain an attorney to help you sort all of this out.  However, if the amount in question was for $5,000 or less, you can take him to small claims court yourself.
