If you're only suing for the cost of fixing your car, it's three years;  this would be an action for injury to personal property (personal property being anything you can own, that doesn't involve land or a building on land in some way).  If you want anything for medical bills, pain and suffering or lost wages, that turns your case into one for personal injury, and the statute of limitations for that is two years.
