I filed for bankruptcy in New York, I have a pending employment related lawsuit that was disclosed in the petition. I can longer pursue the case
Question Details: I do not have the financial ability to pay for costs of depositions etc. I advised my attorney in the employment matter of this and she stated that I could be liable for attorney fees on her part and the defendant part. if I withdraw my case. Are the attorney fees dis chargeable?
Attorneys fees are generally dischargeable. However, it sounds as if these attorneys fees were incurred after the filing of the bankruptcy petition and therefore would not be dichargeable in a prior Chapter 7.
