It depends on what kind of bankruptcy you filed for in 2003. If it was a Chapter 7, you must wait 8 years before you can receive another Chapter 7 discharge. If the second bankruptcy filing will be for Chapter 13, you must wait 4 years.
If your previous filing was for Chapter 13, you must wait 2 years before receiving another Chapter 13 discharge. To file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, you must wait 6 years.
The time is measured from filing date to filing date, not from discharge date to filing date. Also, there are exceptions to these time limits. Consult a bankruptcy attorney in your area to find out if you qualify for an exception which may allow you to file before the end of the waiting period.
