Question Details: I had a meeting with my manager stating that i needed mon-thurs off to attend school and able to work fri-sun. eight hours which is the same as if i would of work the whole week. He told me no that i could have to options to stay or go because they would not give me that schedule.Therefore i tried to balance the two for a good 4 months and couldnt it was too stressful and i was failing my classes and even was withdrew from one.On top of that i would constantly arrive late to work and couldnt make it at times.Therefore i had to quit before i went crazy , lost my job or education.I

Unfortunately, unemployment insurance does not recognize quiting work in order to accomodate other needs--whether it is school, taking care of a child or elderly relative, or just achieving a sane work-life balance--as "valid" grounds for quitting. That is, if you quit for any of those reasons, it is the same as quitting because you just don't feel like working, or had a bad day at work; it makes you ineligible for UI.
