Defamation lawsuit.

Question Details:

I am involved in a a defamation case. The judge denied prelim injunction in June; no action since from the suing party. Is there anything that can move this along? Is there a time limit to see the case through? Also, the suing party lied to my boss to get me fired, witnessed, to which I have a written affidavit. Then lied to MA unemployment to try and prevent me from collecting (on 2 occasions), which this was documented, appealed. He didn't show to the hearing, decision overturned. There are clear instances of this guy lying to cause me harm. Do I have an easy case to counter sue?

You should bring your paperwork to an attorney to be reviewed.  You may want to move things along by preparing discovery (demands for information and documents) of the other party.  You may also want to see if you can still file counterclaims in your case, or add a count under the frivolous claims statute.  Please feel free to give my office a call.  617-357-4898.

usually there are time guidlines during which a case is processed.  In this action, you must have answered the complaint, and then you can and should have filed any counterclaims.

Your statement is a little confusing.  I agree and hope that you are represented by counsel.  Call me with any actions at 978-749-3606.
