Husband hurt back @ work 5 years ago. His attorney is telling us that the Ins. co. does not want to settle. Can anything be done to make them settle?

You don't state whether or not your husband has now recovered from his injury or if he is still receiving treatment.  Most workers' comp cases do settle once treatment has been concluded.  If the claim is ready to settle, I'm sure that your husband's attorney has written a demand letter to the insurer.  If the insurer refuses to make an offer to settle, the attorney needs to file a lawsuit and go through the legal process.  The insurer will likely make an offer some time during the process before the matter actually goes to trial.
