Asked on 1/20/2010.   This question has received 399 views.

How do you check to see if you have a warrant that has been issued against you?

My husband found out today he has an outstanding arrest warrant but has no idea why. Cop just said it was insurance related and to have it re-docketed. Any place online to find info on outstanding warrants for KY?

You should call the clerk's office for that.

You should re-docket the case or have an attorney re-docket it and resolve it for you.

I suggest that your husband hire a lawyer to help resolve this. Usually, lawyer can contact police officers and find out information that the defendant cannot obtain or the police will not give out because they do not care to be helpful.  I am not aware of any on line site you can go to to find out the status or basis for the warrant but the fact that it exists is a problem.  If the charge deals with insurance, it may be that your husband got a ticket for letting his insurance policy lapse and he failed to show up at court or pay the fine.  Failing to have insurance is taken very seriously in most states as the state wants to make sure that people are covered with insurance if they cause an injuryor damage another person's property.  Hire a lawyer immediately and have your husband turn himself in so he can get a court date and resolve this.
