Husband claimed he filed Divorce Papers

Question Details: My husband claimed back in Mar 2007 that he filed the papers (no-fault), however, to date, I have not received anything. Should I start assuming that he remarried since he dosn't have to show proof that he is single?

You should check with the office of the clerk of the court in your county. The filing would be public record.

I agree with my colleague.  You need to check with the applicable court.  Don't assume anything.

Here's link to a site that will provide applicable phone numbers and other information for the various Superior Courts: http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/courts/find.htm.  Also, if you still have trouble in locating the filing, there are companies that you can hire that can perform a search for this kind of information.
