How to answer a complaint from a civil summons?
Question Details: We are working with a debt relief program. The are in active negotiation with the debt collector, but so far no settlement. We have received a summons and don't know how to answer it. The debt program cannot give us legal advice, but they did send us a packet on answering the complaint, but we still are not sure how to answer.
You should find a lawyer to assist- the settlement negotiation will not help you if this goes to court and a judgment is taken against you. Then even a bankruptcy will not be able to eliminate this debt.
