How much does it cost to get a divorce in Rhode Island?

For a non-contested, also called a nominal, divorce you can expect to pay between $1,500 -$3,500 and for a contested divorce $3,500 - $10,000+.  I am a general practice attorney who performs 25-30 divorces per year and I charge $2,500 for non-contested and $5,000 for a contested divorce.  Make sure you hire an experienced attorney who will repond to your calls/emails.   With children and marital assets at stack, you would be foolish not to hire an attorney.  Good luck.
