Question Details:
My son had a DUI reduced to driving to endangered. Yet when I went for an insurance quote, the DUI was on the driving record they brought up w/ his license number. How long will that affect him?
A DUI is a criminal charge that will always remain on your record unless it is expunged. In order for a criminal charge be be expunged, you must file an application for expungement. this willessentially ask the state to remove the charge from your son's record. The state will do this based on the application, which should demonstrate that your son has learneda valuable lesson from his arrest and has bettered himself and has not since been arrested. I suggest hiring a lawyer to help with the application. As far as the insurance and licens issue is concerned, the license will have this negative mark for at least a few years. In some cases, insurance companies lok back 5 years on one's driving record. I suggest hiring an insurance agent to help you find a good rate.
