I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. there is no actual law, however, the insurance company should be working diligenct to investigate and issue you a check. if you do not get a check in a 30 more days i suggest hiring a lawyer to write a letter and demand a check of you will file a bad faith claim.
