How far back can a judge look for DUI?

Question Details: If someone has a DUI 20 years ago in Washington state where DUI's stay on your record forever - and that person gets another DUI in Oregon (20 years later) - is that considered a 2nd DUI or will the DUI from 20 years ago not be taken into consideration?

All DUI's stay on your record forever, but the court will only look back 5 years in determining whether or not this was a first offense for sentencing purposes.  This is known as the "look back period".
