Question: Auto Accidents - New York

Asked on 8/18/2009
How do I write a verified answer to a complaint?
I received a summons to answer a complaint against me for a car accident. The summons was incorrect in one area where it claims I hit a car when the car hit me. I want to respond, but do not know how to pose my response in the proper way. Is there a proscribed format for a verified answer. I live in NY. Thank you.

You should turn the papers over to your insurance company (the policy covering the car you were operating) immediately.  They will provide a legal defense.

Your insurance company will respond with a verified answer through their attorneys. They will represent you

throughout the litigation. Should you be at fault, your insurance company will pay up to the limits of your coverage.
