How do I petition to move a case to a different county?

Question Details:

I just had one question. I am trying to start a petition to have a criminal case moved from one county to another. I am a family of one of the victims, many others and myself believe that the current county cannot truly provide unbiased panel of jurors. So how do I go about getting this petition started?

If you wish to try and move the venue of the criminal action that you are writing about from one county to another based on the perception that you cannot get a fair trial in the county where your action is venued, you need to file an action in the court seeking the relief that you desire.

The motion is somewhat technical and complicated. The court desires specifics concerning such a motion to change venue with a factual basis for the request. Given this, it is recommended that a criminal defense attorney be retained by you to look into the filing of a petition to change venue. My experience is that most change of venue motions are denied.
