How do I lift a no contact order put on by the courts for domestic violence?

Question Details: My sons father was put in prison for domestic violence years ago and has kept going back in because we want to be together but there is a no contact order that I think was put on by the courts. We want to get married the day he gets out, now does that violate parole or does that void the no contact order? I was told it would be void, but how can we get married if we aren't supposed to be near eachother? Where do I go to get this order taken off? Where do I start? I don't know where else to look, please help.

Getting married will not change the order.  While the court may have originally order that he stay away from you.  Unless there is a civil restraining order there is probably not a court order at this point.  But that he stay away from you is probably a condition of his parole.  If you want to get the condition of parole lifted you should talk to the parole officer.  Your fiancee will know the parole officer's name, phone and address.
