How do I go about having my DUI/felonies expunged or reduced? My last DUI was '97 and I have an excelent record since I served my time and parole.

Question Details: I want to get a better job and will need a background check The judge gave me a withheld judgement. I need to know about what the cost will be as I have been on workmen's comp the last 2 years. I have all the paper work from the courthouse. Now what? Thank You, David Nelson Martin -

You'll have to file a petition with the court, and the paperwork will be important, to show that you complied with your probation completely and you've been discharged.  See Idaho Code section 19-2604 for more details.  You will probably also have to go through the Idaho court rules, for some of the details; in many states, an expungement request has to be copied to the prosecutor's office as well.

I'm not an Idaho attorney, so it's hard for me to give you a fee estimate.  You can call a few lawyers and ask what they charge, and I'd make sure to tell them that you have all your records when you do.
