I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  A criminal record may be expunged if the parole board believes that it is appropriate for you.  The way you go about getting the record expunged is by filing an application for expungement.  You may obtain thge application online from the parole board website.  I suggest however, that you hire a lawyer to help you with this process as it is not a simple application and seeks to know why you deserve the expungement.  A lawyer is helpful here to write a solid application.  based on your desire to obtain a CCW license, the investment is worth the legal fees.
