How do I go about getting my sons settlement released to us?
Question Details: We are about to lose our home if we can not pay our rent or bills. We would like to us his settlement to keep a roof over his head and to make sure he is cared for.

I am assuming that your son's money was placed into a minor's blocked account when the case settled. If that is the case, you have to file a petition with the court (it will be at the same place where the judge approved the settlement) setting forth all of the reasons that you need some of the money released. It is up to the court to decide whether or not to release the funds. This can be difficult.
