Question Details: My mother-in-law recently had a bad stroke and is in the hospital. She is expected to be there for some time and can't really talk. I was wondering how my husband and I can get the ball rolling for her ssi benefits. we plan on having her with us when she comes home.
You would need her to sign a limited power of attorney so you may act on her behalf. Is she of competent mind? If not, the power of attorney may not hold water.
