How can I prove that the bed bugs are not our fault and they were in this dwelling before we moved in?
Question Details: We have been here for 2 months. I mistook the bites I have as flea bites. We finally caught the bugs crawling on my pillow. Oh and yesm bed bugs can get into a hard side full waterbed mattress. My landlord is telling me it's my fault. I was starting to get bit up almost immediately after moving in, however as I said I mis took the bites to be fleas. So, how do I prove that these pests were here and I didn't bring them in?
There are several ways to try and prove that the bed bugs were at the unit you rent before you moved in as follows:
1. hire an expert with respect to vermin and their origin and have him or her inspect your unit to come up with an opinion as to when the bed bugs may have been introduced to your rental;
2. ask other tenants and the prior tenants about any prior bed bug issues at the rental you have;
3. contact neighboring pest extermination companies if they are familiar with the rental you have.
