How can I keep my license when I got a citation for underage drinking?
Question Details: My friend got pulled over and I blew a .08 so they gave me a citation. I am 18. Should I plead guilty or not?

A DIU triggers both a civil case and a criminal case. Anytime criminal charges are involved you should have legal counsel. You can be left with a criminal record.
An experienced attorney that specializes in these type cases may be able to get the charge thrown out on a technicality; for example, the breathalyzer was incorrectly administered, or the results were inaccurate for some other reason. They may at least be able to get the charge reduced.
