How can I collect medical expenses due from my ex-husband?

Question Details:

My daughter will be turning 18 soon and I have had to pay for most of her medical expenses since my divorce. My ex-husband is responsible for 50% of her medical bills not covered by his insurance, but has paid very little over the years since our divorce. I have copies of all her bills. How can I go about collecting this money from him after she turns 18?

You should provide copies of the bills to your former husband with a request for him to pay his 1/2 share.  If, after a reasonable time, you file an enforcement petition in Family Court or an enforcement application in the divorce action, post judgment, in Supreme Court.
