Can a final protective order can be expunged from my records?

I had a protective order against my spouse and he filed a cross petition as well; it has since been rescinded. Can I get it expunged? If so, what is the procedure?

Read this information, provided by the Maryland courts, carefully. Note that depending on the disposition of your case, you may need to wait for a certain amount of time before filing the petition.

Usually, the case has to result in a dismissal, or no prosecution. Your case seems to meet that requirement. The general procedure is to file a petition with the court requesting the expungment. Read carefully because you have to allow some time to pass between the dismissal and filing the petition. I don't know when the cross petition was rescinded. The information brochure (the link above) contains the online site to go to for the form (petition) you need. Follow the guidelines in the brochure and good luck.
