Question: Wills, Trusts, Probate - Michigan

Asked on 10/14/2009
greedy aunt
My grandfather recently passed away and the only family members left are my aunt and his 8 grandchlildren, including me. if I am in the will (there is a will), am I going to be notified by a lawyer? My aunt is greedy and tries to pretend I don"t exist. Is there a way she can keep me from knowing that I am in the will? Should I contact the probate court every so often to see if the will is public yet? I am dealing with a very selfish, uncaring, greedy woman and I don't trust her. My dad was originally the only person on my grandparents will. He died in '99 and my grandparents died recently.

AttorneyPages has verified that this person is an attorney.

You should hire an attorney to represent your interests.  Your Aunt may not tell her attorney about you or she may try to probate the estate herself.  You are entitled to see a copy of the will.  contact me to discuss in more detail 586-868-5100.
