Recently received a writ to garnish wages. I'm willing to pay but would like to reduce the amount they will be garnishing before the garnishment starts. What can I do?

I am a lawyer in CT and pracrtice in this area of the law.  The amount that is garnsihed is fixed by statute.  I suggest however, that you hire a lawyer to file a motion for modification of the wage garnishment and provide a financial affidavit indicating why you cannot afford the current garnishment due to other payment obligations.
