I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the the law.  Judgments are good for 20 years from the date that they enter is just about every state.  If you cannot afford the payments, I suggest that you make a motion in court to modify the garnishment.  you can simply do this my writing your own motion to modify the garnishment, and try to get a judge to reduce it to something you can afford since you are paying.  Place the case caption at the top of your motion and sign it and send a copy to the creditor's attorney.  If this does nto work, you should think abot filing bankruptcy.
