I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  The company is not permitted to get reimbursed twice- i.e. unjust enrichment.  I suggest that you obtain the documents that show that you have paid the company in full for the items that you took.  if you can prove this, then you should write them a letter enclosing the proof of payment and let them know that you will file a counterclaim for unfair trade practices as they are trying to threaten you to get more money - i.e. extortion.
