If the company has more than 15 employees, it is subject to the pregnancy discrimination act which prohibits the action you described.  You should file a charge of discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  If they cannot resolve the matter to your satisfaction you will be allowed to file a lawsuit after the EEOC completes its investigation.  If the company does not have 15 employees, you should check the law of your state to determine if pregnancy discrimination is prohibited by state law, and if so, whether the law applies to companies with less than 15 employess.
