If anything has been done to probate your father's estate, whether with or without a will, it would have to be done at the county court for wherever your father last made his home.  I'm not a Texas lawyer, but it's my understanding that the exact title of the probate court can vary from one county to another;  if you go to the courthouse, there will be an information person who can send you to the right office.

You can also hire an attorney who practices there, to look into this for you, and advise you what to do, based on whatever does (or doesn't) appear in the records.  One place to find qualified lawyers in other states is our website, http://attorneypages.com
